In my effort to lessen sugar consumption, it’s been a rule in our household not to bring in any pastries, cakes and similar food. I admit that eliminating sugar is not an easy route to take. The once a week indulgence at Starbucks (and that includes some kind of cake or pastry) is my limit.
However, my husband came home with these decadent treats one night last summer. He couldn’t resist the newly opened Maison Kayser in the Village. He said, it brought back memories from our trips to Paris. Initially, I had a frown on my face. But the sugar and chocolate addict that I am, I quickly warmed up to these:
