Perry’s

Oh that landmark Perry’s Restaurant you say? Yes, we had the chance to dine there for the first time last July and that was the last.

Contrary to both online and print reviews, I think there must be something wrong with us because I simply disagree. Truth be told, I’m NOT GETTING PAID about this review. We went there to dine as paying customers, albeit excited and delighted because we’re constantly in search for new restos to add to our list for variety.

It’s Rated A as far as the NYC Sanitation guidelines. But as soon as I step foot at the resto, there was something that was simply amiss and at that moment I really wanted to go back out the door but I didn’t do it. It was my husband’s choice so I willingly obliged.

Cold bread on a basket? Yes it was! It simply is a no-no. So there you go, the start was already a big miss.

If you’re a frequent hopper on this blog, you know how my husband and I love to order a good variety of dishes when we dine out. Because I was totally turned off right from the entrance I made sure that we only order a couple of dishes. It turned out to be the best move ever because it would have been a total waste of money if we paid a bigger resto bill.

Who serves soup like this (the pic is the actual bowl of soup before my husband touched it)?

This lobster tail dish was blah and the rest of the food served to us didn’t deliver.

One thing I must say as positive to this place was – the waitstaff were all courteous. I guess, that’s why they have their regular patrons.

After the unappetizing dinner, we headed to Starbucks. No matter how bad a start it was, we wanted to salvage what’s left and end the night better. And there was no better place to be than a familiar place to us.
