If you can get past the inscribed date on the photos then go ahead and read my thoughts. Yes, this post had been in my drafts folder for almost a year. March (take a look at the date) is not too far off, right?
I remember so well how this day was one of those stressful and nail biting kind of day. So having a foodie for a husband, he suggested that we should go for brunch and off we went.
Nothing fancy (we both wanted pancakes), nothing unusual – until I heard my husband ordered fries with gravy. Yes, you read that right! Hove you tried this combo yourself? I wonder if you find it appealing or appetizing at all but my foodie husband loved it. I had a few and I must admit that there was ‘something to it‘.
Then dinner time came and because it was a very stressful day, we found more reason to take in more calories by dining at Joe’s of Avenue U, a local landmark in the neighborhood featuring traditional Palermo-style cuisine in bright, no-nonsense digs replete with murals.
We’ve never tried dining here before, it was our first time and it did not disappoint. If you love traditional Italian food, this is a must-dine resto. The waitstaff were so pleasant and more than willing to please. Service was impeccable but you know the typical ‘sound’ in an authentic Italian restaurant – it was a bit loud but the delicious food more than made up for it.
