A few weeks back, we revisited Sri Pra Phai, a Thai restaurant known for its authentic Thai dishes here in New York. We’ve been to their location in Woodside, Queens several times, and so is the Long Island resto.
It was crowded when we got there, but we were lucky because we only waited for a few minutes. It’s always like this even in their other location, perhaps because we were only two. We had difficulty with parking however. The parking space for patrons is just not enough to accommodate their regulars.
So what’s the verdict? Exactly the same food, the same taste except for the ambience. For some reason, I’ve always preferred the original location. It evokes more of the authentic Thai environment. This will not deter us from going back though because I’d rather drive to Long Island than take the trek to Queens. In fact, parking is more of an issue in Queens as they have no exclusive parking space, so we only rely on availability of metered street parking and it can be frustrating and stressful at times.
I’m a self-confessed Thai food lover, and while writing this post, I’m actually craving for Thai dishes once again. See you again soon, Sri Pra Phai.
