I saw these organic chestnuts at the health food store and I immediately sprung for them.


I immediately thought of roasting them, but I got intimidated with the whole process and backed off. I wound up steaming them. In hindsight however, I don’t know why I got intimidated with the former wherein fact, the same preparation process was also done with steaming method.

Regardless, we enjoyed these fall favorite. Steaming made them moist and every single nut was consumed in a matter of two days. I didn’t notice any difference as compared to the roasted ones that we’re used to, except for the fact these starchy nuts were even more moist.
