Ay! Caramba

Last week’s Saturday dinner was great but I admit that we did over-indulge. Hence, a change was in order. This time, we wanted to go light.

We have been to this Mexican restaurant a few times, and we both took a liking to their food. Thus, when we were in the area, we decided to go back once again. It was great! The servings were large, and we did take home half of our order.

shrimp soup ( saucy scallion & pepper broth flavored with lemon, cilantro, fresh chopped tomato, peppers, guacamole, shrimp and sliced avocado) – this was divine!

monica- his fresh vegetable juice (pineapple, apple, lemon, cilantro, ginger, cucumber, carrot & spinach) and my horchata ( cinnamon rice milk)

my smokey Joe’s burrito (breaded and fried eggplant tossed in chipotle sauce with sweet potatoes, corn, carrots, celery, cheddar cheese & blue cheese dressing)

his crab, shrimp & cado wrap (claw crab meat & shrimp, sliced avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, shredded lettuce & carrots)

A couple of hours after we got home, because we skipped dessert altogether, and we needed our sweet fix, we turned to these Macadamia Nuts coated with Dark Chocolate. A couple of balls for each of us did the trick!

  1. Hmm…for some reasons I’m very fond of Mexican foods. Isa lang ang nagustuhan ko sa far….buffalo shrimp quesadilla…yun lang. M and E on the other hand both like Mexican. I’m almost certain na they will like these foods you posted lalo na yung wraps…

    Kami kasi malafang at kahit anong klase ng food kinakain namin. Acquired taste ata ang Mexican food. The more you eat it, the better it tastes. Pwede kaming mag dine out pwera ikaw bwahaha.

  3. Naku naman Sis! Di ko mawari ang aking pakiramdam nong nakita ko ang mga litrato ng mga pagkain. Bigla akong ginutom na napatulo ang laway ko. LOL! Never pa ako nakatikim neto except for the burrito and empanada. Mukhang ang sarap-sarap ng empanada. I just wonder anong sikreto mo kasi kahit na andaming nilalapang, fit and slim pa rin. Pa-share naman dyan! Hehehe!

    halika kain tayo haha. kung malapit lang sana noh? the empanada was nothing like our pinoy empanada syempre mas masarap yung atin kasi may meat. puro veggies lang ang filling nito. it was an option. I can’t compare yung may meat nila coz I haven’t tried them and never will anyway.

    there’s no secret naman Sis. I just stick to my aerobics and weight lifting (I’m just going back to it {almost 2 years na akong hindi nag lift} so I’m starting from scratch na naman, that means 2 lbs. lang muna) activities for 45 minutes at least 4 times per week plus I go on the trampoline every hour for 2 minutes each {kahit 2 minutes lang work out na hahaha} whenever my time allows when I’m home all day. gusto ko nga idagdag ang hula hoop but I have yet to buy my hoop. and I have totally eradicated all kinds of meat(beef, pork, chicken, turkey, veal, lamb) from my diet and significantly cut down my intake on sweets. puro fruits and veggies lang and seafoods 3 times a week. boring ko noh? i’ve been able to maintain my weight at 125 lbs. on my 5′ 5 1/2″ frame. I went down to 103 lbs remember? kaya it was a struggle for me to get it to 125 lbs. in fact, I’ve only hit 125 a few weeks ago.

    Naku! Sana ako rin mawala sa system ko ang meat. Kaso pano to? Meat lovers ang housemates. It’s their way of life na. Mas marami pa ngang baka dito kesa sa tao. LOL!

    I wish I could go back to the gym too Sis. I used to do that daily without fail kaso biglang 180 degrees ang pagbabago ng lahat sa paligid ko. Sigh! Hopefully in due time, makakapag-adjust nako. I want to enrol in the gym like I used to do.

    Thanks for sharing the ways to keeping yourself trim and fit. Inggit naman ako don? Nagstruggle ka pa maggain ng weight eh ako naman baliktad. LOL!

    Come on, fly over here so we can dine 🙂 .

    Chucking meat from ones diet is not that easy, but it’s doable. Ako, I quit cold turkey talaga and I don’t miss them, I don’t crave for any meat at all. There’s no meat in my freezer hahaha. Kaya si asawa dusa siya. He can only eat meat outside.

    Hay mas tamad ako going to the gym kahit yung sa amin dito ay bababain ko lang. Having all the equipments that I need here at home makes it more appealing to me. I used to go to the gym but I stopped, si hubby lang ang pumupunta pag weekend. Take note 5 a.m. nandun na siya for 4 hours.
