Inside a mammoth luxury retailer located on Fifth Avenue, I noticed the use of logo mats on almost every floor during my recent visit. If the intention is to create higher brand awareness, the retailer is definitely gaining the mileage and I can’t fault them for perusing this strategy.
Having been exposed in Marketing prior to being a stay-at-home wife, these materials when used strategically really makes big impact. It actually won’t surprise me at all to see some kind of logo canopy infiltrating the retail market during brand launch and important marketing effort held from time to time. Knowing so well how they are perused during fairs and festivals and they serve the purpose, I don’t see why this will not work the same way in a retail environment. From my own personal experience, it is from using unusual materials that one can gain extraordinary mileage.
Likewise, a trade show flooring can be used interchangeably with a trade show carpet. Or can they be on top of each other? The mind of a Marketing person can run wild and comes up with wild ideas and that is acceptable. I should know, I’ve been there and done that. It is after all from these wild ideas, where successful and giant Marketing campaigns come from.
Do I sound like I’m missing my former life? You bet I do … but not as much. I love where I am now.
