We had a good run of Indian summer, and I can’t be happier. Today however, may be the last day of the string of warm and humid days. If the weathermen are to be taken seriously, they are predicting a high of 60 degrees tomorrow. That means, Fall temps will reign this weekend.
Dressing up have been quite tricky. In spite the warm humid weather, with some heavy rains in between, it was kind of cool in our area when wind and rain took over. Living right by the water can be challenging sometimes. Aside from the nice view of the beach, it’s only during the summer when I really and truly love our location. The cool summer breeze from the beach when you’re outside is very refreshing. With our first taste of hurricane earlier this month, and this area being in the flood zone as we are only two feet above sea level, I found more non endearing reasons living in this area. And not to forget the frigid winter months. At this point, I don’t even want to imagine it but it will be coming sooner than later.
I’m not about to leave though. Real estate may have nosedived in many states here in the United States but New York’s real estate market although, it also got its share of decline, values of properties are still higher than most. $350,000 buys you a ‘handyman’ single family home in the suburbs. And in New York city? Your $500,000 may buy you a studio that’s only about 300 square feet.
Now, let me just count my blessings instead.
