Lately, my husband is drawn to cornbreads. Not just an ordinary cornbread however, but the kind that is moist and not dry and pasty. He’s been always drawn to it, but his renewed fondness of this baked item commenced when we started getting it from the gourmet food delivery. However, that recipe on their cornbread didn’t measure up to his taste buds.
Thus, the hunt for a good tasting cornbread ensued. Needless to say, after several cornbreads from the food delivery (which he willingly ate anyway), I finally put a stop and informed the food delivery that we really don’t care for the cornbread.
He finally discovered Citarella’s cornbread several months ago.
So, what’s so special about this cornbread? I can’t explain. All you need to do is try it and you’ll get what I mean. This has become a weekend staple in our kitchen.
However, the wanna-be baker that I am, I’ve been searching for a great cornbread recipe and I will try and attempt to replicate the taste of Citarella’s. If you happen to have one in your recipe collection, would you mind sharing it with me? I would really appreciate it. This will put a stop to my husband’s obsession with Citarella’s cornbread.
