Nothing beats a leisurely breakfast. We did just that last Friday when we headed to our favorite breakfast “hangout” and lingered there for three hours unmindful of the time. We were able to do it because my husband took off from work, and we consciously made an effort to wake up early because we set it out to be a busy day for us.
After our breakfast, we went home, showered and we headed to Manhattan and spent the whole afternoon into early evening just right where I love the most – on Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue. I can stay there for hours and never feel exhausted at all. The only issue is, when my husband is with me, I have to be mindful of the time. He’s just like any man out there, who hates s-h-o-p-p-i-n-g.
Last Friday, was the proverbial “calm before the storm.” We came home to a notice of mandatory evacuation and that’s when panic had to set in, and all the thrill and joy of shopping dissipated. Actually, the things I bought are not yet unwrapped. Blame that on hurricane Irene.
These foods caused us to linger for three hours at the diner. We were belly-full after ingesting all of these.
whole wheat toast
freshly squeezed OJ
husband’s hot tea
we shared these grilled asparagus
de luxe pancake for a voracious man
my egg’s benedict
