The aftermath of Irene left the transportation system of New York still on locked down. From what I heard, the subway system, although it will start operating again by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, not all lines will be running. The railroads (LIRR, Amtrak etc.) has yet to announce when they will resume operations. It will be one interesting Monday for commuters.
My husband will be home but as early as 8:00 p.m. tonight, he was already on a conference call to ensure smooth flow of operations at work tomorrow in spite of the fact that many of the employees will most likely work from home. I’m sure that they have an efficient system that allows the employees to access work remotely. I wonder if it is as efficient as the Aldelo System that is popular with the service industry.
I’ll have a companion here at home tomorrow and it’s a welcome change for me. That makes it a long weekend for us actually because my husband also took off from work last Friday. It will be a stay-in kind of day though, as I still feel weird heading out the door after the ordeal that we went through.
