Now that Sprinkles is in town ( at Lexington in NYC ), I now can finally say goodbye to bugging my friend who lives in Beverly Hills, LA to send me my favorite flavors through UPS. I admit, that was such an expensive and “out of this world” vice. But I got hooked to it since I first discovered the sweet treats on a trip to LA in 2006 (exactly one year after it opened).
I’m making Sprinkles cupcakes as my monthly treat, just like old days. I’m now saving on the shipping, but spending time to go and buy my picks. At $3.50 per cupcake, they are so worth it.
In between during the month however, my husband found a more practical alternative. Yes, it’s practical because it’s cheaper by $1 per piece (classic size) plus, the location is more accessible.
Here comes Cupcake Kings. A little bakeshop nicely tucked away right along Voorhies Avenue. In comparison to Sprinkles, their cupcakes come in three sizes – mini, classic and jumbo. They are addicting just like Sprinkles. We’ve already tried most of the flavors, and everything so far has been decadent. After all, what’s not to like if they equally taste great plus the price is unbeatable for the quality.
