I have never been the sporty kind of gal all my life. Thus, when I married a man who loves sports and a “gym slave” at the same time, I became interested in keeping myself abreast with the latest in sports and understanding how a certain sport works. Suddenly, I found myself comfortable talking about hockey, baseball, football, basketball and the like, on top of our usual conversations about gym equipments as well as injuries that can be obtained from being active.
Nowadays, walking and running (on the treadmill ), working on the elliptical machine and weight lifting have become the norm for me. I can say that my body eased into these activities pretty well but I must admit that there’s pain here and there once in a while. Those are the days when I must have pushed myself a little too much. Thus, I have been looking into sports braces as I have been prone to some kind of wrist pain lately from weight lifting.
My research proved to be a good first step, as I found out about the availability of braces and supports for any kind of sport and specific injury that may be obtained. It’s good to have something on stand by because now that I have fully embraced a more active lifestyle, I can be rest assured that I have the necessary braces and or supports right here at home without having to wait so I can alleviate the pain immediately. Apart from that, there are preventive braces and supports that are definitely beneficial too and using these are good preventive measures to spare oneself from possible pain and injury.
Who would have thought I would be this interested. The usual couch potato is now embracing a more active lifestyle. I can only hope that this will carry on and continue even when the colder weather comes.
