The timing of our visit to the Philippines was perfect for beach parties. However, it was unfortunate that we couldn’t squeeze in some time for a trek to the beach and had to decline Beach Party Invitations.
One of the invites came from my Uncle. It was the inauguration of his resort hotel. Although my siblings and I wanted to go, we begged off. My Uncle thought of moving the date of the inauguration in deference to us and other relatives because of the passing of my Mom but the party invites have been sent out way ahead and postponing the inaugural date would have created a monstrous logistical nightmare.
We’re all hoping that next year’s visit will be more of a real vacation. By then, there will be plenty of time to frolic in the white sand beaches up north and knowing how meticulous my Uncle is, I’m sure that by then everything in the hotel will be smooth sailing. Just like any other start up business, they are currently experiencing “birth pains.”
I can’t complain about the perfect weather when we were there. It was in the middle of the summer, and what else can I ask for when every single day was sunny and bright?
