One of the requests that my husband asked me to do before Christmas last year was to order cigars for two of his colleagues at work.
My bad. I did a major boo-boo. I totally forgot all about it and worse, the two people on his gift list were totally forgotten. You can imagine my stress level when I finally uncovered this big blunder.
Three days before the day he scheduled his gift distribution at work, I found myself rushing to Manhattan to get whatever present that is somehow appropriate for them. Boy, that was not easy. They are not my friends, and being that my husband specifically indicated cigars for them, that meant that was really good picks for them. I tried to secure Cuban cigars from a nearby shop but they were out of it. I scoured from a couple of places in the city too but they were also out of stock.
My last resort? My favorite department store! I knew that if I can’t get the specific cigars that I was told to buy, I knew that I can get the best shirts that my money can buy from Saks. Hence, from cigars they got shirts. Not bad!
