A quick scan on the area where The Westbury Hotel is located, I didn’t miss the St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. However, my husband and I did not bother to go inside until our third day in Dublin.
Locals regard it as the starting point of Grafton Street (Dublin’s pedestrianised and most popular shopping street). With the intricate architecture, and the more than one hundred outlet stores housed here, it certainly is a tourist’ must-visit. Irish woolens and gift ware including Waterford Crystal & Newbridge Silver are aplenty, but I didn’t notice an outlet of fantasy football trophies at all.
Originally, the site of the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre included the Dandelion market, well known as the site of some of U2’s earliest concerts. It no longer exist but it is commemorated with a plaque.
