In July this year, it will mark the third anniversary of the birth of this blog. How time flies! I didn’t think I would enjoy blogging this much for me to find myself blogging for this long.
Just like many of the bloggers around blog land, my foray into blogging was through a free blogging platform. I was a newbie then, and it was out of curiosity why I signed up for a free account. To make the long story short, I found my way around, and in a few months I was already looking for a reliable web host to host my very first domain. That turned out to be this blog: my world.
I have to admit that I had to seek help throughout the whole process. I had no clue what domain hosting and the like was all about. I turned to the internet to get answers to my questions. The not-so-techie me, although I had first hand knowledge of how hosting works, and knowing my limited capabilities, I had to seek assistance from a blogging acquaintance to get my first domain blog running.
After a few months, I was already toying with the idea of getting a dedicated hosting. “Not so fast!!!!” That was my husband’s plea. He was very apprehensive that I would get so hooked on blogging, which will leave me no time for him and our household. Reading up about dedicated hosting made me think that it was such a great idea if I were to host many sites. That idea of mine didn’t pan out. To date, I have three sites hosted on one web host sans dedicated hosting and I’m happy with it.
In a nutshell, I know that my research and thorough study of what’s available out there in the world of web site hosting paid off. With some horror stories that I came across online about hosting providers abruptly shutting their doors, it pays to rely on web hosting reviews and ratings while in the process of selecting a web host provider. Take it from me. I’ve been there.
