Friday’s 3 mile super fat burning workout with Leslie Sansone left me with sore arms. As mentioned on a post on my other blog, I chose to do my walk at home instead of heading down to the gym.
However, since I haven’t done this workout for a long time, I now have to get re-acquainted again with the set of walk-away weights that came with my in-home walking system. It was really a big struggle for me to do all the arm movements with the weights on my hands. I really got my arms a good workout, something that I haven’t had in a while.
As predictable as it is, of course, I gave my arms a rest yesterday. I went back to the gym and work on the treadmill. I have to say that the in-home walking system is as good as working out in the gym with all the different machines and equipments.
I realized that instead of concentrating on several machines in the gym, I think I will integrate my in home walking workout at least one of the three gym days. Since I also aim on integrating weights on my regimen anyway, I might as well start it off by using what I have at home.
Do I love going to the gym? NO!!!!! And that is a very honest answer. I’m only doing it because it is the right thing to do. With a pre-existing condition – in my case, that is hypertension plus a history of stroke and heart attack in my family, I know in my heart that I need to get moving.
It helps that I have a gym aficionado for a husband. He gets me motivated to keep up with my regimen. In fact, he even told me that he might reward me with certified diamonds if I increase the frequency of my gym days and be consistent with it. Sounds like a very enticing offer, but I know myself and that is really a hard thing to do. Apropos, that certified diamond will have to be the reward for another endeavor that is well done and not from a consistent gym routine. I’m passing it up. I know that it is not a realistic offer. After all, he might just be offering it because he knows I will not be able to deliver. What a sneak! (LOL)
