Finally Up To Date

It has been a long time since I last heard from a family friend. Ever since they moved to Indiana, I can count on my fingers the times that I have spoken to her on the phone.

Today, we made up for that long silence as we were on the phone for almost two hours catching up on what’s the latest in our lives. One of the many developments that I heard was about my friend’s daughter developing fondness of horses. I was not really surprised to hear about it, as the grandparents are avid horse lovers who always made sure they have adequate horse supplies for the stable of horses on their farm.

Now, my friend is not too keen on her daughter’s passion for horses, because as young as she is, she now wants to start getting horseback riding lessons. I can certainly understand her concern for her daughter’s safety. But whether parents like it or not, it is a given that they should learn to let go, for their kid’s development. Agree or disagree?
