Vacation, vacation. Have you thought about it yet? It’s early in the year, and sure there’s ample time to plan for that summer getaway, but with a lot of uncertainties brought about by the economic downturn, will people really even think of going on vacation? Nowadays, we hear thousands of people receiving “pink slips” every week handed by their employers. Either the company is going under or they are downsizing.
Most of us are apprehensive and we want to hold on to our money, cut back on unnecessary spending and wait and see. With this kind of attitude, yes, we are not helping businesses so they can stay in business but we are better off putting that big spending on hold than be sorry later if we are one of the unlucky ones that get axed.
Or better yet, planning for a very modest vacation is doable. One can have a little bit of fun and enjoy the nicer weather that is about to come in a few months. I have heard about extended stay hotels which are comfortable, convenient and best of all one can get the best value for their money. Hey, if you want to have fun there are plenty of options so as not to break your bank account, and this is definitely one of them.
