I have spent a good part of the day yesterday tinkering around the kitchen once again. As I have written previously, I’m really serious to get into baking and I have mostly the basic baking tools and equipments already. I didn’t realize that there are a lot of things that I needed to acquire to get started. Making room for the tools in my kitchen cupboards is one thing, and stuffing my pantry with basic baking ingredients is another story.
Having no formal education in baking, sometimes I feel I’m too ambitious to embark on this. That’s why, I’m seriously considering getting baking classes. It can just be a class on specific baking subject and not a baking course. I have already checked options being offered other than the ones that NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) offer. The good thing about the other classes is that I can get one locally, about 15 minutes drive from where we live.
Let’s see where this will take me. I have been educating myself via books and videos. I have yet to bake my first cake. If I can handle it without going through any class, well and good. I have already invested a great deal of time in studying and money in acquiring the tools. There is no room for failure, I will have to ensure I learn the basics on my own and seek help if needed. All I need is tons of luck.
