As written on my previous article, I have been busy in the kitchen last Friday rearranging and making room for new stuff. I am really gaga over the idea of finally getting my hands on baking to the point that because I was engrossed on reading everything about baking Friday night, I didn’t sleep all night. My mind was awake and I was just tossing and turning until the sun rose.
I eventually got tired from lying in bed so I got up at 9:00 a.m. and went back to tinkering around the kitchen, this time, I ran the anti bacterial cycle of the dishwasher with my ever reliable Jet Dry Dishwasher Cleaner. While that was running, I kept myself busy polishing my silverware that needs polishing.
My husband is in awe on what this new found soon to be hobby of mine is doing to me. I haven’t officially started yet because I don’t have every single tool and equipments yet but I’m very enthusiastic to start. In fact, I have been mulling over the idea of enrolling at NYIT (New York Institute of Technology)for a non credit certificate on their Baking And Pastry Arts Program. As if they are reading my mind, I actually received their Spring Course Offering Brochure yesterday. My only reservation is that the courses are offered at their Central Islip campus and I’m not sure I’d be willing to drive that far. If I enroll and eventually quit because of difficulty in commuting, that would mean I’d waste a total amount of $ 7,425.
As it is, I plan to learn from reading and trial and error in the kitchen, and I’ll see if I progress from that. If it turns out to be a disaster, because of my high level of interest, I might just enroll in the program but I will have to find another school that offer such course close by.
When did I finally go to sleep, you may want to know. After my chores, I still didn’t fall asleep. I was able to function most of the day and finally took a nap for two hours from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. As you may be guessing now, I was up all night again Saturday night. I finally hit the sack at 2:00 a.m. Sunday and slept till 2:00 p.m. Hence as I’m writing this, my day has just begun. Let’s see where my eyes will take me tonight 🙁 . Dear Lord, please let me sleep at a normal time.
