What is normally just a 10 minute drive wound up to 45 minutes of sitting in traffic. That was exactly the scenario today right around the supermarket where I normally go to every Monday. It would have been a breeze but as soon as I left the supermarket, not even a few meters away, the road was congested. I did not even bother to take another route in the hope of getting home faster because there were police cars all over, coming from different directions with their sirens on.
As soon as I got home, I tuned in to the local news to find out what was it all about, but while I’m writing this, I haven’t got a clue. All I knew is that when I finally got off the congested part of the road, I noticed some closures on the road heading to where I came from. It’s amazing how an untoward incident like that can impede the normal flow of traffic.
Oh well, I’m just glad it was only that long a delay. I’m used to traffic anyway. 45 minutes is nothing as compared to what I used to experience in Manila, and I thrived on it. I actually miss it!

Being caught up in traffic jams and dealing with it is just a matter of you state of mind – and of course having deadlines. Take away the deadlines and it can almost be enjoyed.
