Not Isolated This Christmas Eve

Today is Christmas Eve, and no, we’re not going to be isolating ourselves this time, unlike Thanksgiving day. We’re off to Long Island, at my sister’s house for dinner up till Santa gives away the presents. Yes, it has been a tradition every year ever since I started living here in New York. How about my husband you may ask. He has already fully embraced this tradition even if he is Jewish by religion.

If we would have been in the Philippines, it would have been a different story. But no, let me veer away from this topic now, because I know for sure that I will end up crying a river again. I am not still over my Dad’s demise, and Christmas would have been and has always been a big celebration in our family.

I’m hoping that my husband will be off from work early. I understand, as he was trying to explain to me last night, that the exchange (Wall Street) will probably close early but feds will remain open. Which means, back operations and commodities will be operating. If given an option, I told him to come home early so we can get to Long Island at a decent time right when dinner is served. The weather is another thing to watch for, as the forecast is going to be rainy and warm. Yes, temperature in the 40′s is already considered warm for us here, because it has been in the 20′s the past few days. White Christmas? No, not possible with  high temperature.
