This Year, It's A 72-Foot Tall Norway Spruce

Last Christmas, I did not get a chance to go and see the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center. This year, I made sure I’d get a glimpse of the gigantic tree. It was crowded yet nonetheless, I believe I got decent shots of the tree.

This year’s tree, a 72-foot tall Norway spruce is festooned with 30,000 LED lights on 5 miles of wire and topped with a massive crystal star. It was donated by  a family from Hamilton, New Jersey, and the owners called it the “miracle tree.”

Since the tree lighting ceremony, this has been the crowd drawer in the city. People from all walks of life flock to take a glimpse of the tree which to date, is the 75th tree as the first official tree lighting was held in 1933.
