The Christmas Star On 5th Ave.

Starting my day early yesterday was imperative to accomplish what I had set out to do. I took the subway to Manhattan, no, I will never drive to go to the city more so at this time of the year. Provided there are no delays on the train, I knew I would be there in an hour. The jinx that I am, I ran into a lot of delays on the train hence I got there after an hour and 45 minutes.

The delay didn’t dampen my “shopping spirits” because as soon as I saw the shopping crowd trudging the streets of Manhattan, I was set. In as much as I shy away from big shopping crowds, every once in a while I feel good hobnobbing with a  big crowd. It reminds me of home: Manila. Right at this time of the year, I can imagine the crowded malls all over the metropolis. The crowd here in NY does not even come close. If you’ll ever get the chance to visit the Philippines, you will see how the Filipinos love the malls.

I noticed this Christmas Star right by the middle of Fifth Avenue and East 57 Street. Isn’t this awesome? It’s too bad, I was there early on in the day and the picture I took can’t do justice to it’s beauty.

Good thing, I managed to grab this night shot online. Take a look.

I have more shots to share as the buildings around 5th Avenue are also clad in Christmas decors. I definitely had my share of exercise because I walked a lot yesterday. I also wanted to get digital flash memory cards. It took me a while to get to my final destination as I took “detours”. Whenever something good caught my eye on the window display, I went inside the store.

Oh, before I forget, just in case you are looking for discounted fragrances, Saks has an ongoing sale on fragrances right now. It started yesterday and it will end tomorrow. They are offering 15 % off on fragrances, but there are some exclusions. My favorite Jo Malone scent(Grapefruit) is included and I got the 4 oz. bottle of my husband’s fave Creed (Tabarome).
