The temperature here in the Big Apple is currently 23 degrees Fahrenheit but it feels like 10 degrees Fahrenheit because of gusty winds registering at 25 mph. We had our first snowfall last night, but there was no accumulation of flakes because it was not that much. Indeed, winter is here, and it’s this time of the year when I sort of wish we are not living here right near the ocean. Lucky are the retired people that live around here. They hibernate in warm weather states when winter sets in, only to come right back by end of spring and spend their days here mostly until Thanksgiving. Isn’t that one good thing about being a retiree?
We have quite a long way to go before we reach retirement age. No, I’m not trying to rush to get there. I guess, a change of environment away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and the harsh winter weather would be a welcome change. The problem is, there’s only one Wall Street, the place where the head of the family works. How can I even think of leaving New York when I know that would mean living our livelihood? Fool!
