I’m not yet used to wearing my specs when I head out of the house because I have been wearing disposable contact lenses since I graduated from college. Hence, more often than not, I tend to forget to bring them with me. At home, because I’m nearsighted I can function without having anything on my eyes. I can read, I can see everything clearly except when I watch TV even on the big screen. I need aid if I want to see everything, but since I’m not fond of watching anyway, I get by without contacts and eyeglasses.
My husband can not even try to hide his annoyance when I forget my specs. He normally just complies to my request and I just ask him to head back in the house to grab a pair while I wait. I think it probably make sense to just leave a pair in the car so whenever I forget, there is already a pair for me to utilize. I don’t know why I haven’t done it, because I have several pairs. Which reminds me… one of this coming Saturdays, we have to procure our pair for the year. After we had our annual eye exam with our Ophthalmologist we should have gone straight to the optical shop but we never got to do it. The “king” has been busy during the weekends lately with a new system at work about to roll out in a few weeks.

Like you I have dispoable contact lenses, they’re great, especailly for the summer and seaside – I can wear sunglasses. The rest of the time I wear conventional spectacles purely on the basis of saving money!
It just seems to me a waste of money to wear contact lens for no other reasons.
@ Martin
yes, contacts are very convenient specially the disposable ones.
you might want to look into transition lenses for your eyeglasses. I have been using it for the past two years and I don’t have to use contacts with sunglasses because the color of the lens automatically changes with the changing light.
