If I can drastically cut out rice from my diet, cutting out sweets such as cakes and chocolates is definitely more difficult for me to do. I have gotten to a point when I can skip any carbs such as pasta or rice but not my dessert. They are both evil, I know, if not taken in moderation, but my sweets are my only addiction aside from shopping splurges every once in a while.
Case in point, my dinner last Sunday. I had the leanest meal ever, but I finished it off with the maja blanca that I made earlier. No, I didn’t grab a big slice, but honestly speaking, after that meal, I felt very full so much like the fullness I felt when we dined out at the Japanese restaurant last Saturday. It will take a lot of effort for me to finally say no to sweets, but I honestly doubt if I can and will ever do it. I don’t cheat in between meals, but after meals sweets are almost always a tall order and I try to get a reasonable serving size as compared to what I’m used to. It’s a struggle indeed and I’m dealing with it the best way I can.
