I have previously written about wanting to lose some extra pounds. Not that I’m overweight, actually I’m far from that, but I think my overall health will be a lot better if I shed some off just like my doctor had told me a few months ago. Now, that I’m about to see him again (my last for the year), I have started to consciously watch what I eat.
Having a husband with a voracious appetite does not help with my cause. Because he is used to eating home cooked meals every night except the weekends, I know he expects to walk in with such after a long day of working in the “jungle” LOL. It’s not exactly an easy walk in the park for me, as I need to do a lot of adjustments. I prepare his dinners, while I prepare my own.
In an effort to prepare healthier meals, instead of frying, I broil. Just like what I did last night, when I made these marinated baby milkfish, a popular Filipino dish.
The above was one of the goodies I bought when I went recently to the Filipino store on Long Island. I bought two packs of frozen milk fish sold by weight.
Needless to say, my husband devoured them even if he thought, fried would have been better.
