The First Day Of School

Childhood memories… did I just write about it? Who has no fond memories of their first day in school? I sure had my own first day jitters. The apprehension of leaving home and having to deal with new people around me was the biggest hurdle. On the other hand, I was excited to wear that uniform and my new school bag as well as enjoy the crispiness of the pages, and the newness of the different school supplies. As a child, being the fourth child for that matter, my older siblings were there to rally behind me on my first day of school. That was aside from my Mom of course. And yes, we went to the same school. But even with this support system behind me, the nervousness was there. The very well adjusted child that I was though, this feeling didn’t last long. I made friends quick enough to make me want to go to school everyday after the first week.

Nowadays, as I look at children going to school on the first day, I still see that apprehension that must have been the same during my time. The big difference now, is that all their school supplies and paraphernalia can now have color labels on them, a great way to establish their ownership. During my time, I must admit, I was already in high school when I first encountered the Dymo Label Maker, the old style, if I must say so. If I had it early on during grade school, I would have saved the lost of school books and those cherished toys that I used to bring to school. It would have saved me from having to explain to my Mom how they got lost.

Those were the days… what a way to reminisce. In a couple of weeks kids will be go back to school here in New York. Calling on all Moms out there, why not see for yourself how DYMO can help you and your child get more organized and for better identification.
