Long Day

Yesterday, we were off to an early start. We took the trek to Long Island and as usual even during that off peak hour, we ran into some  congestion on the parkways.  It’s no longer easy to determine the best time to get on the road, as the roads here are just filled with vehicles. Worse  is, once traffic flow finally ease up, you end up questioning yourself what’s the cause of the congestion because there’s no visible reason. Road repairs, accidents, or police activities are normally the reason. Yesterday’s cause of congestion on the parkways was undetermined. Once we passed the gridlock, the drivers; maniacs as they are on the road started to rev up and flew over and above the speed limit.  I tell you, I can’t help but cringe and close my eyes, seeing these drivers  find their way in and out  between cars and lanes in the speed of lightning.

We were finally home about 9:00 p.m. with the brutal wind still blowing and freezing temperature. I can’t complain, and all I could say was “thank you God for another wonderful day”.
