What about if I tell you, that somehow when I eat oysters I sort of entertain the thought that there’s a diamond embedded in there? Wishful thinking, you may say. But hey, diamonds are a girl’s best friend. I wouldn’t mind fishing out a huge rock instead of pearls.
I have repeatedly wrote in the past how I love seafood, and oysters are no exception, Gulf oysters, at that. I could eat oysters cooked in different ways. Fresh, baked, grilled and any other way.I just love them. They are not calorie laden yet, very nutritious as they are known to be loaded with zinc, omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin B12.
The love for oysters though comes with a warning. There are potential dangers in eating raw oysters. I’m glad there’s a website that help educate the consuming public. It helps to create awareness, as there are people that are at high risk especially those that have diabetes, liver disease and weak immune system. Serious illness or worse, death can ensue. Which means, as far as I’m concerned I should eat raw oysters in moderation. I hope I can do it, as I love fresh oysters the most. There’s a certain taste in them that just makes me keep going back for more.
It pays to be oyster aware. Let’s spread the word.
