Verizon Service… S- - - -!

I had a real bad day yesterday. I kid you not when I tell you that I practically spent my whole afternoon on the phone talking to a Verizon DSL tech support. This service sucks!

As I have written here previously, my connection problems has been persistent. Not even the diagnostic and repair visit of a Verizon phone technician resolved my problem. The phone jacks are working properly. After three long phone conversation with a DSL tech support yesterday they finally gave in and are now willing to send a DSL technician on site. After almost a month of remote help from them, yes they are sending someone FOR A FEE (and it’s not cheap!!!). Something I wouldn’t have mind paying if this was an option weeks ago.

It didn’t have to go this long. They could have sent a technician onsite weeks ago, as this was what I have been asking from them. None of those tech support people including one supervisor yielded to my request. Worse is, the supervisor was pointing at a possible problem with our phone jacks and splitter, thus, they can’t help me and sarcastic as he was, he said: “we don’t trouble shoot plastic splitters.” Funny, but I actually told him I can afford to buy a hundred pieces of splitters. If he can guarantee one of the 100 pieces will work, I will go and buy a hundred so I can solve my problem.

What really bothers me is the fact that they could have informed me early on that they can send a technician only if I was willing to pay. They were insistent that the DSL signal was good, as they were testing it remotely thus, they can’t send and will not send a technician. I was simply shut!

It’s too late in the game. We have switched to another service and waiting for installation on Friday. And we’re not only switching our internet service, we are also switching to a new phone service. No one should suffer this kind of abuse. Verizon thinks they are mighty and king! I just hope, that with this kind of customer service, consumers will see the light. I don’t know why we have been paying premium all these years to get this kind of service. They are not the cheapest service one can avail. What, with all the taxes they add on that only Satan can decipher what they are. They are only good when customers don’t need help.
