Whatever we’re doing, whether at work or at home, it’s good to have a solid system. Some may think it’s a crazy idea to systematize the way we do things even at home, but it’s not for me. Systems when at work, whether we’re talking about high tech or simple system without the use of a machine has been proven useful, so why not do the same thing in running once household?
My household is not a complicated one, as it’s only my husband and me. Prior to moving here, it was the same thing, as I used to live only with my live-in househelp as soon as I started working and got my own place. Believe me, even my househelp’s routine was drafted and finalized by me, just so I can help her manage her day.
Now, on my own running my household, it works the same way. Since I don’t have a live-in househelp as I’m used to, I do most of the household chores myself. The luxury of being home is a real big plus as I can spread out all the household chores to be done within the weekdays, as compared to most working women that only have the weekends to do their chores. Come the weekend, my hands are free from any chores, thus, I have more time with my husband and be free to do whatever we please on weekends.
The key is, I stick to my schedule no matter what. Sometimes it proves to be hard more so, if there are distractions within the day, but I always try to carry on and finish up, so I won’t have to double up on chores the following day. Like today, I was done cleaning at 5:00 p.m. It’s not that I woke up late, but I had a ton of distractions and cleaning had to be put to a halt. I got done, and that’s all that matters. So tomorrow is another day and loads of laundry will surely keep me busy.
Ahhh… typical day of a housewife. Nothing to complain about…It’s bliss.
