Yup! the scheduled power interruption for maintenance, if you may call it an interruption, was just a flicker. It didn’t even create an impact on the clock in our bedroom. I had to re-set the time though, on the Bose system and all the TV cable boxes. I hope that’s it. The last time it lasted for a good 10 minutes and there was another for maybe 5 seconds.
If that was it, I can live with it. I’m hoping I’ll be in bed should there be a second one. This very little inconvenience should be taken in stride though, because our Maintenance department has really been good in making sure everything here is in tip-top shape. Believe me, when I tell you that during the big Blackout in 2003(I’m not even sure if this is the correct year) in several States here in the US, while the whole of New York was dark, our development(the 5 high rise buildings) was proudly lit and we enjoyed the cool central air in our apartments that whole day and night. This was only because where we live, we have our own power plant independently operated by our development . I really don’t know how it works, but even if Con Edison is down, our power is on. The only thing that made me feel bad, was my husband was in the office all night. He didn’t come home because he normally takes the subway and of course, without power there’s no subway. There was no way anyone would take the road and drive because the traffic was unbelievable as motorists were going crazy without traffic lights. He came home the following day early afternoon. What a day that was!
This is it for today…in My World.
