My niece, Elise graduated from high school last June. She’s not only close to me, but also to my husband. Believe it or not, they’re so close, that my niece confides to him and seeks advice from him even about boys. As early as January this year, she already informed us about the date of her graduation and that us not being there will disappoint her. We went to Maine in June, but we had to cut short our vacation so we’re there to witness her graduation. We gave her a Canon PowerShot SD1000 digital camera as our present to her. We know so well that she’ll put it to good use, as she has been into digital photography for many years already.
I was just talking to her yesterday, and she was so proud to tell me that she had just put together a digital scrapbook using pictures she had taken with her Canon PowerShot. I am a novice with digital photography as I had just gotten my first digital camera ever last May. I own a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS and I’m so loving it. Now, I don’t wonder why my niece is so addicted to her camera that she brings it with her all the time. I’m now so into digital photography, that I no longer go out without my camera in my purse. You’ll never know when that perfect digital moment comes. I like it that my Canon is equipped with Image Stabilization feature. I can now say goodbye to blurry photos. And of course, the best thing is the Self-Timer function. I always want to be a part of the picture especially so that when we travel it’s just the two of us most of the time. We always bring with us our lightweight tripod. The one great thing about digital photography, is the fact that it offers a lot of room for error. You can immediately see your output and if you’re not satisfied, you’ll just have to flash that wide smile again. It’s fun to experiment and get your and your subject’s best angle.
Now, with my new found passion for digital photography I am seriously considering getting a Nikon D3. My niece even mentioned to me about this camera, and that she’s wishing there’s someone out there kind enough to give it to her as a holiday gift. All I know is that, it won’t be us, because I’ll have to get it first for myself.
