I had to drag myself out of the bed at 7:00 a.m. today. The reason? Maintenance work on a 10″ pipe that controls water distribution in our complex has to be replaced thus, we have no water supply for 5 to 6 hours. I wanted to have an early breakfast and shower before the water is shut off at 9:00 a.m.
As I’m writing this post, I’m already done with one of the chore I had set myself out to do, that is – to put away our summer footwear and clothes and pull out our cold weather gear. I have put off doing this chore for the past two weeks mainly due to the fact that the weather has been unseasonably warm. I had to do it now though, because the weather is not gonna get any warmer. By the end of this week, if I go by the weather forecast it will be in the 50’s. Good thing is, I already picked up from storage at the cleaners the dry-cleaned coats, jackets and scarves. It took me two and a half hours to complete this task, and that is only for the two of us. I don’t know, but for some reason I don’t have that same excited feeling doing this in the fall, as compared to when I pull out our spring and summer gears. Oh well, at least I’m done.
I’m in the mood to scrap and definitely with a lot of time in my hands today, I’m going for it. Besides, cooking dinner for the whole week is not part of my to do list this week. Frank is off from work for 4 days starting tomorrow which means I’m also off from cooking. Tonight’s dinner will definitely be taken cared of by my husband. He told me he’s bringing food from one of his favorite restaurants in the city. The rest of the week’s food will be: come what may— whatever we feel like. Bahala na.
I’m just feeling good even without water. It’s good to be up early once in a while and be able to do tasks and still have a lot of spare time while the sun is still up.
