Whew! I can’t believe this post is now part 4. Folks, I hope you’re not getting bored. If you’re still up to it, here’s my list:
.I can’t ride a bike, any 2 wheeler for that matter, but I can drive even in the narrowest alley.
.I can’t swim and my friends gave up on me in this area. I remember, while on vacation in Pearl Farm (Davao), which by the way is one of the most breath taking resorts in the Philippines then, my friends started to get me in the water with my two legs being held by them so I can float.
.I’m visually impaired. I refused to admit it while in college, so I resorted to squinting, but I gave in when I was in review school for the Med Tech Board. I started to use specs but this only lasted for a couple of months. I simply didn’t like it, so I started using disposable lenses (Acuvue). Since then, till now I’m still using Acuvue and I only use glasses for TV viewing at night.
.I used to own those humongous Motorola cell phones. Piltel lang ang line before and not too many people were into cell phones yet.
.I used to be a cosmetics addict/junkie. When I say addict, it was really bad that I would buy every single lipstick color that I fancied. Clinique, Clarins, Chanel and Lancome were my faves. I loved to give them too as Christmas presents. Now, I still own a good quantity of cosmetics but I’m in control and I now fancy Laura Mercier, Chanel pa rin, YSL, Stila and Guerlain.
.I was also a fragrance addict. My dressing table used to look like a department store fragrance counter. My Vogue subscription made me want to always get the latest scent, and I paid duties and shipping to the Philippines just to get them because they were still unavailable in the store. Too bad, when I moved here, I had to give them away. I’m still into collecting but it’s no longer like the old days.
.I’m hypertensive. I’ve been on medication for so many years. No one would think I’m a walking time bomb.
.I love to eat cake. Well, I think saying it that way is an understatement. I just love it so much that boxed cakes are a no-no for me. I know the taste of a real freshly baked and quality cake, from a mediocre one. It got to a point when I was eating cake as a late night cap for 2 years straight. I have 3 good Italian Bakeshop not far from where we live and they satisfy my sweet tooth. I had to stop this bad habit though, because my cholesterol level got out of control which by the way ,is now within normal range since I cut down to only 3 nights of cake a week.
.I used to love Coke… Coca-Cola that is. I didn’t drink any other soda, but I don’t drink soda anymore except when I get invited to dinners/parties and it’s inappropriate to dictate.
.I now drink iced tea, a lot of it, but it has to be sweetened. I can only drink unsweetened tea if it’s hot.
There you have it. Till next week.
